Lorin is the second daughter of Ivani Verona. Being part of a society where none but the first-born are entitled to any privileges, she was not allowed to bear her family's name, being nothing but a servant to them. She is 19, and apperantly human. She's 5'10", ~120lb. She has brown eyes and shoulder length brown, thick, wavy hair. Her skin is deeply tanned, although this tan is fading since she spends most of her time indoors. When she arrived in the JU, Lorin was wearing a leather tanktop and a canvas shirt. Since then, she's modernized a bit, and usually wears slacks and shirts. She wears a pair of earrings made of wood and metal, and 2 necklaces. One is a string of stone beads, and the other is metal beads with 5 leaf shaped settings for large green gems. Her back, which she attempts to keep well-hidden, is covered with scars, which are a result of repeated lashings and beatings she'd recieved since she was seven or eight years old. Lorin's intelligence is above average, but her self esteem is low. She refuses to acknowledge her achievements, whatever field they be in. She tends to speak before thinking when she's excited and often refers to herself as "a mouth with less than half a brain behind it." Since she was raised doing hard labor, Lorin is relatively strong and agile. This makes her a good shot in thrown weapons, as well as fistfighting (of which she did quite a lot). Lorin's magic is mostly untrained. The abilities manifest themselves when needed - creating light if in a dark room or pushing someone away when being attacked. Those abilities are also involuntary. In some cases she has managed to achieve some control, but those spells are few and mostly useless. Lorin's world was far behind in terms of technological advances. In comparison to Earth, they were in the Dark Age or so. Because of it being new to her, and because it was a part of the invasion-destruction of her world by B'harnee's forces, Lorin is extremely nervous around technology. Nervous enough to cower under a desk when the phone rings. At Mal's suggestion, Lorin began studying science and technology in hope that they wouldn't scare her as badly if she understood them. It didn't work. However, since she hasn't given up, she's still persistant in her study of science, engineering, mechanics, etc. Since all she knows is theory, tho, the knowledge is mostly useless. Today Lorin resides in the new JPV headquarters while still doing some work for VRDET.
